PECHINO 2008: giochi olimpici all’insegna della censura?

Su IL Venerdi di Repubblica uscito venerdì scorso (n. 1063) un brillante articolo del corrispondente dalla Cina Federico Rampini ci informa riguardo alla premura con la quale il governo cinese si appresta a salvaguardare e garantire la “stabilità e l’ordine sociale” del regime in vista dei Giochi Olimpici.
Soppressione di manifestazioni, carcerazione preventive di intellettuali dissidenti, allontanamento dalla capitale di personaggi scomodi sono all’ordine del giorno. A tutto ciò si aggiunge la fantomatica Guida dello straniero ai giochi ovvero un vademecum per i turisti olimpici contenente oltre 50 domande e risposte e animato dal principio guida per cui “Lo straniero non deve danneggiare la sicurezza nazionale o l’ordine sociale”. La violazione di questo astratto principio può costare all’incauto turista olimpico 8 giorni di reclusione senza che vengano avvisate le autorità consolari né che venga concessa assistenza legale. Il regime cinese è in paranoia: teme gli attentati (è notizia recente un attentato a Pechino probabilmente di mano islamica), e soprattutto non tollera il rischio di critica. Sono infatti moltiplicati i controlli agli stranieri, ai quali è vietato introdurre libri, files, articoli, il cui contenuto possa danneggiare la cultura cinese e perfino portare bandiere; tutto ciò per prevenire l’ingresso di ospiti sgraditi come i militanti per i diritti umani o rampanti reporter. Così tra censure, arresti, repressioni, ronde militari e violazioni dei diritti umani questi giochi olimpici rischiano di essere ricordati fra i più tristi della storia.
Dico fra i più tristi perché anche altre edizioni non sono ricordate come eventi festosi. Come non ricordare le tragiche olimpiadi di Monaco del 1972 durante le quali un gruppo terroristico palestinese (settembre nero) prese in ostaggio 11 atleti israeliani: il tentativo di liberazione da parte delle forze armate tedesche finì in un bagno di sangue (11 gli atleti morti, 5 i terroristi, 2 i poliziotti), per non dimenticare i giochi olimpici di Atlanta 1996, durante i quali una bomba ucciso due persone e ne ferì oltre 100. Inevitabile però è il parallelismo fra i prossimi giochi e quelli disputatesi a Berlino nel 1936: anch’essi ospitati da un regime totalitario: quello nazista. La scelta della capitale tedesca fu subito contestata in quanto in Germania vigeva un regime che applicava le leggi razziali, che negava qualsiasi libertà di opinione, che stava implementando il proprio apparato militare. I giochi olimpici furono strumentalizzati dalla propaganda del Terzo Reich. Hitler inizialmente scettico di ospitare in casa quella che lui definì una “rassegna di ebrei” fu convinto dal fido Gobbels a che i giochi potessero essere l‘occasione per dimostrare al mondo la superiorità della potenza tedesca, attraverso la costruzione di opere faraoniche, e della razza ariana, grazie alle vittorie degli atleti tedeschi. La squadra olimpica tedesca si preparò scrupolosamente per mesi. Anche gli odierni padroni di casa hanno preparato con la manu militaris i propri atleti affinchè possano brillare nelle discipline più disparate.
Rinnovando il parallelismo, sembra che anche i dirigenti sportivi cinesi ricorrano a metodi non proprio ortodossi pur di assicurarsi la vittoria: pare infatti che la squadra di ginnastica abbia inserito atlete bambine - la cui età, sui documenti ufficiali, è stata “magicamente” fatta lievitare a 14 anni - più spericolate e elastiche delle colleghe più grandi.
Chissà se i giochi saranno l’occasione per scrutare all’interno del regime cinese o l’occasione per il regime stesso di stringere ancora di più la morsa della repressione e della censura.
