La morbosa pratica del “benpensare” ci ha sempre portato a considerare il benessere sulla base delle necessità materiali che una comunità è in grado di soddisfare. Se così fosse noi Italiani, che assieme a pochi altri controlliamo l’ottanta percento della ricchezza mondiale, saremmo uno dei popoli più “benestanti” del pianeta. Il fatto è che tutta questa gioia di vivere io non la riesco proprio a vedere: non la vedo nelle smorfie di coloro che rientrano, sudati e incazzatissimi, da una giornata di lavoro frustrante (magari coronata da due ore di coda in autostrada), non la vedo negli occhi allucinati di coloro che tornano, altrettanto sconvolti, da una serata passata a sfasciarsi il fisico (e i neuroni) con qualche superalcolico in corpo, non la vedo neanche nelle facce di coloro che hanno timore di uscire di casa per paura di essere assaliti o derubati, o magari soltanto per non essere costretti a vedere il proprio mondo che decade inesorabilmente.
La verità è che la nostra è una società – sistema, che fa schifo e ne è pienamente consapevole. È una fabbrica nella quale ogni sforzo è teso ad aumentare il consumo, innalzato a valore comunitario ed unico indicatore di progresso. La cultura, mercificata anch’essa, viene “purgata” e sparsa a pioggia, perdendo ogni carattere identitario e spirituale, per assumere quello di nozionistica inutile e pallosa, quando non di mera retorica “politicamente corretta”. Tutto ciò che può rappresentare un obiettivo, una meta sociale, o semplicemente uno stile di vita autonomo viene demolito e criminalizzato: le conquiste diventano privilegio, le tradizioni bigotterie, l’eroismo crimine. Il delirio diventa cardine di un mondo frenetico e brutale. Come fermare questo abominio? Col buon senso, è ovvio. Ma il buonsenso prevede tempo per pensare, e questo lusso, all’alba del terzo millennio, non ci è concesso. In compenso però gli illuminati difensori della libertà ci forniscono tutti i mezzi necessari per dissociare le nostre sinapsi sovraccariche dal malessere (ma non eravamo benestanti?) che ci circonda: una bella dose di stress sociale, un po’ di calore terroristico (“afaghistan, afagnistan, come cazzo si chiama quel paese di kebabbari?”) ultraviolenza innaffiata di sangue (“ma quanto sembra vero quel braccio monco…mi fa quasi eccitare”) condita con upskirts di sciacquette televisive e “spezie” a volontà. Odio l’umanità? La amo, più di quanto non la ami chiunque si rassegna.
